This image is a series showing two magazine covers. My intention was to develop my own professional practice in portraiture and also to explore how Rankin uses a high contrast of tones and colour, within his work. I was also inspired by covers of Vogue Magazine from over the years.
What have I learnt from this course?
During my course, I have developed many practical photography skills when studying the range of project briefs. I have also participated in work experience, where I gained many skills including pre and post-production skills, networking, communication and learning how to be flexible in the industry. I have learnt to work to strict deadlines and produce work with attention to detail. This has given me further insight into how photography is used within the industry and how to approach a professional environment, which will be very useful for university.
What is my advice for anyone joining the course?
The advice that I would give to someone starting my course would be to be confident in your project ideas from the very beginning and enjoy yourself!
I will be progressing on to BA(Hons) Photography at Staffordshire University.
