Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and gender.

My intentions for this project are to raise awareness and express the importance of how mental health disorders aren’t just the stereotypical panic attacks and depression but can be dangerous and impulsive disorders that can risk not just that person but the supportive people surrounding them. I want to communicate the stigmatised sexism in the BPD community and how it causes women to be perceived as berserk, rampant, delirious and dramatic. It is all to do with the undeniable growth of the misogyny towards the fragility of women especially when they expose their instability. Using case studies I have explored the emotion, loss and feeling of those who experience and describe BPD. I have been influenced by artists like Chris Ofili for his colour and battle with cultural surroundings.
