This piece was a digital drawing that I submitted for the ‘One Word’ Project. This drawing was the first digital drawing I fully created using Procreate for the iPad and I learnt a lot during the process. It went through many different transformations and ideas until I finally settled on this piece and I’m really proud of how it came out.
With this Piece, I wanted to give off the idea that the Magic Shop was a place of happiness, love, light and comfort, while the world outside of it was dark, lonely and scary, much like how struggling with mental health can feel. I also liked how the doodle creatures fit with my theme and showed the idea that the magic shop was full of things that could evoke good feelings or even represent something that would mean a lot to someone.
